Triple Harmony Drone Flutes

Triple Harmony Drone Flutes are a unique design concept that allows the player a multitude of playable combinations by choosing which holes to plug and which to make playable.
This design was originally developed by Dr. Justin Rollefson who has teamed up with elemental flutes to provide anyone who purchases this flute with free 30 min lesson. The different key options that I offer, from highest to lowest are: A4, A4 and D5 G4, G4 and D5 F#4, F#4 and C#5 F4, F4 and C5 E4, E4 and B4 as pictured above. Choosing a Wood
|
|
After selecting a keys and frequency, it is now time to choose your wood. The flute can be made in one single kind of wood or a combination of two or more woods. I source the Hawaiian woods from a friend on Maui - he is a furniture maker and reserves the offcuts (extras) of his projects for my use.
I also use local woods around NC, where I currently live. Hawaiian Woods available include: Koa and Mango. Local Woods include: Maple, Walnut, Camphor and Aromatic Cedar. To get a more information on each type of wood I offer, check out my Woods Page. |

The starting price for a Triple flute includes:

Option to have 3 or 15 plugs
I craft each flute from my beautiful home in Western North Carolina, using nature as my inspiration through the design process. I really enjoy connecting with each person - getting to know them and working with them to bring their vision to life.
The first step is to choose the key and frequency.
I make these flutes in the keys of
Mid Range
G4, G4, D5
F#4, F#4, C#5
F4, F4, C5
Low Bass Tone
E4, E4, B4
D4, D4, A5
These flutes will be tuned to the frequency of 432 or 440 Htz. depending on your preference. I also offer to create 2 different sets of Totems which allows you to play both frequencies.
The next step is to choose your wood how many plugs.
For a 15 hole flute you can have just 3 in the middle 3 holes or you can choose to get plugs for every hole which allows you to play it with a lot more note combinations.
The woods I currently work with are:

Black Walnut
Maple
Poplar
Sweet Bay Magnolia
Camphor
After these are selected, extra features can be added including:

Stone Inlay Into Engraving
Wood Inlay Design
Stone Cabochon

If there are any additions to the selected options below, I will connect with you to go over the price and make sure that we are both clear on your design idea.
These flutes are made to order and will take about 12- 14 weeks as I work form an order list.
I use shellac and wood wax on my flutes on the outside and polyurethane on the inside to protect from moisture.
Each flute comes with a simple flute bag made by my wife.
There are no returns or exchanges on custom orders.

These flutes are made to order and will take about 10- 12 weeks to complete to allow for oils to cure.
I use all natural shellac and wood wax on my flutes.
Each flute comes with a flute bag made by my wife.
There are no returns or exchanges on custom orders. If you feel that this flute is in need of tuning or adjustments in the first 6 months, feel free to reach out and i'm happy to make the adjustments if shipping is covered.
